What to expect: As a Registered Veterinary Technician, I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe treatments. Instead, I work alongside your veterinarian to support their medical recommendations while ensuring your pet receives attentive, high-quality care at home.

Melanie Savary, RVT

Trusted Paws Mobile RVT of San Diego is owned and operated by Melanie Savary, a Registered Veterinary Technician with 28 years of experience in veterinary medicine and 10 years in practice management.

Born and raised in San Diego, Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science from UC San Diego before becoming a licensed RVT. After nearly three decades in traditional practice, she saw the need for professional, in-home support — especially for senior pets, medically fragile animals, and busy families.

She works closely with both pet owners and veterinarians, always within California's RVT scope of practice. She does not diagnose or prescribe — her role is to support your veterinarian's plan while prioritizing your pet's comfort and wellbeing.

Why I Created Trusted Paws Mobile RVT

After nearly three decades in traditional practice, I saw a growing need for professional, in-home veterinary support — especially for senior pets, medically fragile animals, busy families, and owners who want clear communication and continuity of care.

Trusted Paws Mobile RVT of San Diego was created to:

  • Reduce stress for pets by providing care in their own homes
  • Support veterinarians by extending care beyond the clinic
  • Help owners feel confident, informed, and supported
  • Provide compassionate guidance during challenging medical decisions

Veterinary Concierge

Includes pre-visit questionnaire, in-home pickup and transport, appointment advocacy, medication pickup, and a written summary emailed after the visit. Travel outside city limits or an extended appointment may add a fee.

Pricing is based on one pet. Homes with multiple pets may incur an additional fee depending on the number of pets and the care required. Medical care during a sitting visit is priced at standard medical rates.

Pricing may vary based on complexity, duration, and number of pets. Payment is due at time of service — cash, check, or Venmo accepted. An initial in-home consultation is required for all new clients before medical, chronic care, or concierge services.

Cancellation policy

Appointment times are reserved just for you and your pet.

Medical services

24 hours' notice required to cancel or reschedule. Less notice incurs a $25 fee.

Dog walking & drop-in sitting

24 hours' notice required. Less notice incurs a $20 fee.

In-home pet sitting

72 hours' notice required, since reservations block multiple days. Less notice incurs a $100 fee.

Emergencies & no-shows

Fees may be waived for genuine emergencies. If we can't access your home for a scheduled visit, it's treated as a no-show and the applicable fee applies.
